Justin Mentink

Justin Mentink is this year's recipient of our $3,000 "David and Erin Thomas Fore Hope Scholarship". From Oostburg, WI he is the older brother to Riley, a CDH survivor now in high school. Although not a CDH survivor himself, he has been instrumental in the development and growth of his younger brother, who for years struggled with the physical limitations attributed to his CDH diagnosis. Growing up together Justin coached and encouraged his brother through trying times, and now proudly watches Riley thrive as a sophomore varsity athlete in both Soccer and Track. He is currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering at Michigan Technological University and remains very active in raising awareness of CDH in their location community, and also in conjunction with the Ronald McDonald House and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin - the facility where his brother recovered from CDH.

We congratulate Justin on his receipt of this scholarship and are looking forward to cheering on his continued success in all things life!
