Matthew Clifton, MD

Medical Director
Emory University School of Medicine

Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, CDH, ECMO, CDH Support, Charity Golf

The clinical subject matter expert of Fore Hadley, Dr. Clifton had a special connection to Hadley, as he was to be the surgeon performing the necessary corrective surgery upon her reaching a mature enough age. However, in the time since Hadley’s passing Dr. Clifton has continued to be an outstanding source of knowledge and support for Katie, Ryan, and everyone involved with Fore Hadley. Serving as an Associate Professor and Program Director of Pediatric Surgery at Emory University, as well as the Surgical Director of ECMO at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, he remains at the forefront of CDH research and all therapies tangential to finding a cure or new corrective measures. Originally from Southern California, he graduated from Georgetown University Medical School, completed his residency at the University of California – San Francisco, and his fellowship at Emory University. He lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife Vicky and three sons.
